THE MIGHTY GOD IS WITH YOU 2009
We are living in a world when
a) Suddenly circumstances can change
Eg.,A problem may suddenly start in your office, business or life
b) Pressure starts building in and it starts to increase
You pray and read the word but yet the pressure does not seem to diminish but increases
You are perplexed.
You do not know what to do.
In such situations there are 3 ways of reacting:
The first way is just resign to the circumstances.
The person has lost hope
He does not know what to do.
He is resigned to his fate.
He has tried his best as per his mind knowledge and he does not know what else he should do.
He therefore gives room to the thought "let it happen as should happen"
Such action will not solve the problem, but rather complicate it.
The second way is to faint and become more confused
When you do so, then you will be always thinking of the problem
There will be no real joy, no real happiness.
Outwardly these people make a show of joy, but inwardly they are confused
They spend their time with tension, worry, fear
Some times they tend to show it on their family members or others
The third way is the supernatural way
This is known as God's way:
When pressure increases you react in the way God expects you to.
God has a way for man to react and when men react as per the ways of God, they allow the Mighty power of the Almighty God to work on behalf of them.
But unless you know the ways of God, you will be reacting contrary to God's expectation.
This is where the right type of teaching plays a vital role.
Even in the physical world, successful people react in the right way while facing obstacles.
And reacting in the right way requires proper training and impartation of physical skills.
What is God's way of reacting when pressure increases?
a) Don't yield to your senses:
This is something which one has to understand
The devil operates in the realm of the senses
He cannot go beyond the senses
It is through the 5 senses that the devil is able to influence and dominate humans
He will therefore try to keep you focused on your senses
When you yield to what you see with your physical eyes, you are yielding to your senses and the devil has the opportunity of influencing what you see.
For eg., when you look at the tumour, the devil can magnify it and make it look more bigger. What if it is cancer
When you yield to what you hear with your physical ears, you are yielding to your senses and the devil has the opportunity of influencing what you see.
For eg., when you allow the news you heard to dominate your mind, the devil can magnify it and make it look more bigger
What are you going to do?
This can happen to you
That can happen to you
What if that happens?
How are you going to manage?
Such thoughts flood our mind and complicate us.
So the first step is don't yield to your senses
b) The second step - Do not faint but encourage yourself in the Lord
In 1 Samuel 30 a very interesting incident is mentioned.
1 Samuel 30:1
And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned
it with fire;
1 Samuel 30:2
And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way
The amalekites had come when David and his men had gone for war.They had invaded Ziklag and smitten Ziklag and burned it with fire.They had also carried away the
women captive.
The condition became very bad
1 Samuel 30:6
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters:
At that time David did not faint
What did he do?
David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

LIVE THE SPIRIT OVERPOURING LIFE 2009

Ephes. 5:18
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Acts 6:3
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
The secret of the Ancient church was that they gave importance to being filled with the spirit.
Unless a person is filled with the spirit he was not eligible for any church work in the ancient church.
That is why the Apostle Paul advises "Be filled with the spirit"
It is a life overflowing with the spirit and this is what God expects from you.
The spirit filled spirit overpouring life is exciting.
Why is the spirit filled spirit outpouring life exciting?
a) The spirit overflowing life is a life of Power
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God
was with him.
Jesus went about after being anointed by God. He was overflowing in the spirit.
Luke 4:14 declares that he walked in the power of the spirit.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Jesus also advised his disciples:
Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Through the above words Jesus was advising his disciples "Don't move about without the infilling of the spirit"
When you are full of the spirit, then power flows out of you
Observe Luke 6:19 "And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went power out of him, and healed them all".
Power went out of him as he was full of the Holy Ghost
Acts 6:5 "And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch":
Stephen was a man full of the Holy ghost
What did he do?
Acts 6:8 "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people".
Stephen did great wonders and miracles among the people as he was full of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 19:12 reveals "So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them".
Paul was full of the spirit that power went out of his body and into the handkerchiefs which touched the body of Paul.
This power was so strong that sicknesses and evil spirits ran away.
Acts 5:15 "Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them".
Peter was so full of the spirit that even the shadow of Peter overshadowing the sick were healed.
If you desire to walk in the power of God and see the power of God in manifestation, then be full of the spirit.
It pays to be full of the spirit and lead a spirit overpouring life
Secondly the spirit overflowing life is a life of confidence and boldness
Acts 4:31
"And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness".
The apostles spake the word of God with Boldness as they were full of the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost in them, gave them a boldness.
Acts 4:13 declares
"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus".
The boldness could be seen. It was evident.
It made the Sanhedrin marvel because they could not understand how unlearned and ignorant men could be so bold.
This was a supernatural boldness which originated out of them being full of the spirit.
When you are full of the Holy Ghost, fear and doubts are replaced by confidence
Observe the words of Jesus:
John 11:41-42
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
[42] And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
What gave this great confidence to Jesus.
He was overflowing with the spirit.
When you overflow with the spirit, you can discern the voice of the Lord clearly and you can be led by the spirit.
There will be no doubts.
